it concentrates his mind wonderfully. Les was oh-so-close to the gallows and was given a reprieve. A reprieve because of his own worthiness, a reprieve because of administrative fears or a reprieve because of Alleva's ineptitude, we may never know, but it was a reprieve none-the-less.

I believe Les' mind is now as focused as it can be and we will see his best coaching job next year. Whether his best is enough remains to be seen, but I think we will get his best.

Les is not capable of doing better. He's a great guy, but he doesn't know anything about modern ideas and concepts. He's just not capable. He doesn't do better because he isn't capable. If he could do it, he would have.

he's not even that great with hires.. chavis was a good hire though.. but it's been pretty bad of late..

les needs to get better coordinators and let them run the show.

but he won't. he is stubborn.

He could bring back one last bit of magic, or he could squander this last chance. I have no doubt he will be as focused as he is capable of being, so next year should tell us exactly what he's got. If it's like this year, I doubt there is any hesitation in moving on. If we reach the ultimate goal, I don't know what happens next, but man it will feel great to see LSU on top. Either way, next year, and especially the end of the season should be a crazy time.

Not sure about this. I think after got beaten down in NC game in 2012 he lost his swagger. I think after he played Alleva against Arkansas to get a raise and an extension he got comfortable and lazy. He now knows the end is near if he doesn't right the ship. He also knows that his coaching days are over after LSU. Because of age and/or performance nobody is going to hire him after he retires or gets fired. The man loves coaching and I think self-preservation will inspire him to give it his best.

I think he's more like a criminal who got an acquittal on a technicality. He's not gonna change

Another day dreamer. Les was a student of Bo Schembechler's offense, his best coaching job is to assemble a great OL so his RBs can pound and pound the running game. His FB philosophy is now well known to other SEC coaches, and that's why they tend to box the LOS to stop the running game. Until he could find a QB, next year's result will be the same or worst than this year's records. Les just doesn't like or doesn't know other ways for winning in FB. The game has long passed him by.

I didn't say Les would change. I didn't say, or imply, the game hasn't passed him by. I simply said it is my opinion Les is about to put forth his best effort as a coach. It may not be enough. Because of the evolution of the game it may turn out worse than this year. I'm just saying it will be his most sincere, determined effort as a football coach.

When a man faces the gallows, he looks death in the face and swears he will change. When the threat has passed, and a reprieve granted, they rarely do. Expect more toss dive into the teeth of Bamas defense, and poor QB play.

Les kinda has the upper hand now. Admins have to have a guy lined up or risk looking like fools again. les gonna kick back and coast into retirement at LSU. No worries...

Lol. No

We are OK with mediocracy. That's the reality. Get over it. We won't beat gump, arky or ole piss for many years to come. But we have a great guy as our coach. At least we aren't Aggie.
