Strictly my opinion, but i dont think they would let Miles go so unceremoniously for an up and comer. Has to be an established name for it to make sense. Now if everything blows up, like FSU counter-offering, Jimbo backing out after we already let Miles go, etc. and LSU ends up doing a full fledged coaching search, i could see them having to take a chance on a younger guy.
Also in that case, you'd think Alleva would have snuffed out the Miles rumors earlier in case we had to keep him. The fact that he never came out and said Miles is our guy, tells me he thinks he has a guy lined up already.
Once again, this is just me trying to make sense of it all. No real insider info.
