Hated the peveto re-hire when we made it as well, I get the guy can recruit but he was not a good STs coach his first stint here and that is even more apparent now.

The steele and peveto hires may have been the best we could get at the time because of the contracts Alleva was willing to offer. The better candidates may have wanted more security that Miles would be here longer.(the same reason Chavis left).
Im thinking if this is all true, it probably played out with Jimbo getting word to Alleva through agents, etc that if the LSU job comes open, he'd be interested (likely in the last year or 2). So from there Alleva didnt want to overcommit to anything, in case an opportunity came up to snag Jimbo. Now with LSU underachieving in the SECW again, the whole thing has been set in motion.
Just trying to put all the pieces together.

There's probably a couple of names on Alleva's list other than Jimbo, so we can retain Miles as a last resort if none of them work out. Doubt we would fire miles for an up and comer, or without a big name replacement lined up. The fact that its leaking out either means its happening, or that the LSU admin is a mess.
