Les is the one making this difficult, sorry this is business. The les miles that lead us from 2005-2007 isn't the same Les that is leading us today. Les seems like a great man off the field and never brought off the field shame to us. However, its time we move on. Les had a very nice way out but he has fought it.

oh my god, this dude definitely cried watching titanic.
Put me in the crowd that doesn't feel sorry for a dude that's about to get $15m on top of the $30m plus that's he's earned during his tenure.
hah okay John Wayne.

id label it opinion gathered from watching this unfold and things that have been said by people with decent sources. It would make sense that LSU wouldn't want this to be ugly and we would want Les to retire rather than have to trot out and fire him. Its a bad look in the media because of how sweet miles is and his overall record. The media is made up of journalism majors, they run on emotion and don't let stats and trends change them. They aren't smart enough to be honest individuals and realize when it is time to move on due to the recent record of Les Miles.
LSU doesn't want this to get ugly because of recruiting implications more than anything. A good coach wont be scared by this.
I dont blame Les for believing he still has it, no legend wants to be pushed into retirement. Bowden fought tooth and nail over it, Mack Brown the same, Joe Pa, and others. They are competitive people. However, at some point its better for everyone to move on with it looking like it wasn't something that went down at gunpoint.
Les was going to get his 15 million either way.

Even millionaires have feelings. Are you so calloused that rejection means nothing to you? Have you ever lost a job that you poured your heart and soul into? I'm not a sunshine pumper and I think we need new life in our football system, but we don't have to pretend that everything was horrible.

I don't know how to deal with it if the greatest college football coach ever leaves us!
My life will be over.
My tears will runneth.
I will lie down on the floor in a fetal position.
Please don't leave us, Coach Miles.
Let's have a protest march!

It will be a sad day in LSU history.
Being strong armed and forced out by a bunch of dumbass boosters. Show some damn respect

We can't act like this is unjustified. Les has been the head man for plenty of years. He had his great run, he maintained us and even bounced back once, but since 2011 he has let us slip. He hasn't made the changes needed to return to a championship caliber team. He hired pals like cam, rehired BDP which should have never been allowed. He has had major holes in recruiting classes as of late. He was given this year to get it right and he stuck with cam and brought in a terrible choice at DC that didn't fit. He made a great move in getting Ed O but Steele looks to have offset that.
It is sad that Les is going to have to be forced out. It is sad he is to proud and stubborn to realize that his own moves dug this grave. I don't think anyone was being unreasonable in expectations for this team.
I have my issues with Les as coach, and think the idea of him being the AD is completely stupid. However, I do think he would be great as a hand shaker making 1.8 million a year.

Nobody will be able to interpret what he says at a press conference.

It's going to be heartbreaking.
He will probably buy a vacation home on some island with his $15 million buyout money + $4.5 million annual salary. How will I be able to deal with such heartbreak?

Some of you come across as such children.

Instead he has been stubborn forcing Joe to fire him for having the most embarrassing stretch since 1966
1966? Where in the F*#) have you been during the 90s? 80s?
We had bad stretches with Saban.
No sense of reality around here.
