College sports is a huge business. He was hired and paid a shite ton to produce. He is now at the tail end of his career producing mediocrity. Look at what Emmitt Smith did for the Cowboys. Even though he was the all time leading rusher, Jones traded him when he started producing mediocre results. He was a life long cowboy but business is business and thats what needs to happen at LSU. The game has passed him by and he has not adapted. Thank you Les for all that you have done but its time to pass the baton.

There is also a thing called a reputation.
Yeah, coaches do look at how you treated your last coach. Unceremoniously dumping a guy who won 100+ games in 11 years is not going to give you a good reputation.

We know, you don't like les miles

What a dumb post. People can be sentimental about Miles leaving and still understand its time to move on. I just hope we don't look back in ten years realizing this was the height of the program.

Yes, and LSU is making a great profit all because of Les Miles. Attack his coaching, but don't totally disregard his monetary value to LSU, moron.
Louisiana has no other leaders like Miles whose helping our state profit. Miles needs to remain a part of Louisiana and LSU.

Well since you said to quit, ok then. What was I thinking?

Thanks for being the emotion police.

Is it harming you in some way?

I don't think he's blind, I think he makes a great point!
If you look at every major college football program over the last 10 years, LSU is a lot closer to the top than the bottom.
While it may certainly be time for the Les Miles era to come to an end...LSU fans should not be so naive as to believe things can only improve!

I am in no way discrediting him for his growth in LSU popularity. But by all means, lets stay mediocre and an 8-4 team for the sake of the "Miles Legacy."

First off, college football is a big business, and LSU has made Miles fabulously wealthy. So let's get a little perspective.
And keeping a coach 11 years and holding on to him the last few years as we've slipped, with the debacle this year, isn't rash. This isn't an "unceremonious dumping". This is an appropriate firing.

Not to mention, all these people talking about how Les built this program. Saban built this program after winning the NC in 03. Les walked into a winning situation and it grew from there.

good coaches aren't pussies. they have huge egos and believe they are the best. Les being fired isn't going to stop shite.

The guy is 110-32 in 11 seasons. Averaging 10 wins a season.
We are about to fire the winningest coach since 2005 in the toughest conference in America.
Not sure how we should feel about this.
My guess is we miss on the next hire and we go the way of Tennessee and Nebraska. We will go into a lull for the next 10 years.
