The lady-friend loves a good brunch, so I'm looking to take her out for her birthday Saturday to get the day started off right. Mimosas are a must, most preferably inexpensive since we'll be drinking a lot of them, and a good bowl of shrimp and grits/grits and grillades is preferred.

Any suggestions?

Not many places have Saturday brunch but I looked it up last weekend for my wife's birthday and Commander's, Apolline, Atachfalaya, and Dante's Kitchen were the places we chose from.

Surrey's seems like the right answer here.

Apolline does a $16 bottomless mimosa but I do not know if it's Saturday/Sunday or only Sunday. If you can do it Sunday, many of the Magazine St places between Louisiana and Washington also do a "bottomless mimosa" (and also bloody marys, screwdrivers, etc) for about $15-16.

Tivoli and Lee has a $10 bottomless Mimosa or bloody Mary deal.

The food is decent, not great, but the drink special is impossible to beat.

Have enough Mimosas and you won't care about how the eggs taste anyway.
