Questioning Joe Alleva's ability to make a good hire is ridiculious

If you look at his track record, he has done a very good job and bringing in the best people he could get.
1. Trent Johnson- 2 time coach of the year in 2 different conferences. Went to 2 Sweet 16's. Ended up being a poor fit but in Joe's defense he had just been hired to be LSU AD and didn't yet have a feel for his new position. In the situation he was in it was as good a hire as he could have made on paper.
2. Nikki Caldwell- Had done a very good job at UCLA, had SEC ties and had coached under the WBB GOAT and another HOFer.
3. Johnny Jones- Listened to the basketball people who told him JJ would be able to get the players in here needed to compete and look where we are. 4 years in and a steady incline. We currently have the most exciting basketball team we've had here in decades.
4. Beth Torina- Has been a very good hire, hs the softball team back in the WCWS

Dude, LSU is a perennial mediocre program and there is no way LSU can compete with the current openings
why would a coach want to come here?
do you not remember the 90s?

The majority of LSU fans care slightly about basketball, care a pretty good amount about baseball, and care alot about football. They could give two shits about women's sports.

Not to mention the Cutcliffe hire at Duke. He has done pretty well for them.

Those coaches are winning championships left and rt. Isnt that what this is about?
JJ may turn out great, but dont fool yourself, Alleva didnt need to use much negotiation tactics to lure Jones to baton rouge. there was a reason he was at North Texas for so long.

1. Duke lacrosse.
2. Gave Miles a raise. Because Miles implied he might leave for Arkansas. Meditate upon that.
3. The best hire he's ever made, amongst a number of terrible hires, was David Cutcliffe.

He is not a football consigliere.
