@nick_underhill: Payton says Dennis Allen will takeover. "He'll handle everything from A to Z"

Well, that makes it sound like CSP was just waiting to give the defense over to Allen.

I mean I know CSP tried to not do rob wrong but it's like the team knew there was a divided chief sorta. Sean should have had the balls to relieve RR before season after they hired Dennis

It really does. Our coverage has been looking very bad like unbelievably bad. Allen was sabotaging? ?? Maybe the defense will ball now lol.

Well, secondaries don't work in a vacuum.

And if you wanna say Allen has ruined Browner, I'd counter by arguing that he's brought on two rookie corners, one a UDFA and one a late rounder, pretty well.

Good point, I really wish PJ wouldn't have got hurt. Something tells me he would've been great. Sadly Swann has had 2 concussions in his first year.

Keenan being injured honestly totally altered the probable use of what we could have planned for browner

Did Payton bring Allen on this season with the thought of already firing Ryan?

The crossfit mafia strikes again.

We'll come off two weeks rest, healthy for the first time, and against a shitty 4-5 or 3-6 Texans team, the defense will look good and Allen will get a bunch of praise and be cemented into his job.

I was really hoping we'd clean house on defense, instead we further entrenched Payton's buddies.

Allen was way above Rob Ryan on Saints coaching ranks on their staff page. U do the math. Allen was brought in under Ryan yet having more organizational power

Yup. See below. We fired a guy who the players loved and promoted a guy who is admittedly directly responsible for our shitty play so far?

What the frick is Payton doing?

pretty shitty situation for rob ryan. you bring the guy in, you already have shitty d-line and lb coach in place, then you bring in a db coach and have him calling coverages. wtf? time to get rid of this whole shite show.

So Allen has been calling the coverages? Hopefully he hasn't been calling the D for the past 3 games, because if so, that's not encouraging at all.

Dude our coverages have been a fricking joke at best. Allen hasn't proven he can do anything but Suck anywhere and we just handed him the keys.

Worst part is, he gets his first game against a horrible Texans team after a bye with some key guys healthy. The chances that our defense performs one of the best games of the season are high and he'll get some undeserved credit for it.

If I was coaching browner that motherfricker would have to spend an extra hour in unrelenting workouts and practices for every penalty.

And that's just the tip.

He would be cut after I watched irrefutable game film of him choosing to blind side a wandering oline man who wasnt involved in the play anymore instead of trying to tackle a runner and save a touchdown.

Yea, Championship.

Better expectations would be to not finish with the worse D of all time, maybe even not the 32nd best in the league.

That too, which was ridiculous. I'd go find some hungry cfl player to start over him, at least if he sucks youd see him working his arse off.
