I was really hoping we'd clean house on defense, instead we further entrenched Payton's buddies.

I just hope we can field a competent defense. I don't have any petty desires about how it is done.

Well, that makes it sound like CSP was just waiting to give the defense over to Allen.
He trusts him at least. Or maybe it's a 6 game tryout. This was exactly why Allen was brought back over in the offseason. It's clear as day.

We'll come off two weeks rest, healthy for the first time, and against a shitty 4-5 or 3-6 Texans team, the defense will look good and Allen will get a bunch of praise and be cemented into his job

What an interesting "fan" you are. Hoping for the Saints to fail so you can feel vindicated on a message board. Yeah, it would really suck if Allen somehow turned this unit around into a capable D and made improvements.

Worst part is, he gets his first game against a horrible Texans team after a bye with some key guys healthy. The chances that our defense performs one of the best games of the season are high and he'll get some undeserved credit for it.

F@cking ridiculous. So Rob's def never sh!t the bed against sh!tty offenses and rookie QB's?

C'mon man.
