Already happened in Garland, Texas.

The cops quickly sent them to Allah and their 72 virgins.

It could EASILY be a target for terrorism, and if they plan it accordingly, could easily trounce the Paris numbers.

And possible help the US rid itself of some excess weight.

But that was a fairly unorganized attack from what I remember.

Dense population centers, cities that attract tourists, places, that draw large crowds, finance and commerce centers, historical sites, symbolic places, all with easy access. So...
NCY, Boston, Philadelphia, Washington DC, Charlotte, Atlanta, Miami, New Orleans, Houston, Chicago, Denver, Minneapolis, Salt Lake City, Seattle, San Francisco, Los Angeles. Those are the places that seem logical to me. JMO.

Would the outcome be like the one in France where 100+ are killed? Or would the fact a lot of people conceal carry help stop the attack before it got that far?

Yeah, frick you. Really think through a situation in a dark theater what would happen if a bunch of people were packing heat. People would shoot at anyone who has a gun, unaware of what was actually going on and who are the good guys. You're just taking a shot at the French, and while it's possible it may have saved some lives, it's also highly likely that even more people would be shot when you put in 30 people carrying in the situation.

I'd imagine a lot of the Muslims there aren't strict followers of Sharia law, which would make them potential targets for ISIS.

Isis wouldn't pull this stunt in a state with a large population of concealed carriers. They'd do it in New York.

Yeah, and it's clearly because people in Bumfrick Kansas are packing heat, not due to the fact that NYC is the most prolific city in the world. Do you really think people like this are afraid of being shot? They are on a murder-suicide mission. Those kind of thoughts don't really enter the equation, and just where they can scare the shite out of as many people as possible.

It's a pretty knee jerk frame of mind to think that concealed carry would have prevented this event from happening. Especially given the target locations.

They'd have to attack the north or west coast for it to be successful in my opinion. Watching the video of the man on the second floor filming people running out of the exits is a good example. Most southerners could easily thwart an attack with deer rifles and pistols in that instance.

A lot of people here aren't realizing that these real world situations aren't like the movies. Most people who own guns aren't trained for John McClaine like situations, and they would end up killing innocents. Hundreds of people fleeing a scene, there is sure to be an innocent caught in the crossfire. And that is assuming the carrier knows who the perpetrator is. Most people would be relying solely on instinct, and if they see a guy with a gun, their initial instinct will be to shoot the person, unaware he's doing the same thing he is. Granted this is a bit easier than an Aurora situation since they're chunking grenades and wielding AK-47s, but it would inevitably devolve into innocents killing other innocents.

To be fair, being stopped by armed citizens would be pretty damaging to their effort to incite fear. It would show strength of the people to retaliate and defend ourselves.

They want easy targets where the most damage can be done, aka unarmed and vulnerable people

Or a gun owner could take out the gun man and stop the killing. Without a good guy with a gun there is no way to stop the bad guy with a gun.

If 3 or 4 ex military guys here in the US went nuts on some issue and decided to do this, do you think someone with a pocket carry get off me gun would be able to stop it?

These guys are trained, not to the US military standard, but trained nonetheless and they will do this here eventually. There is nothing that can stop it forever.

Yeah, if only John McClaine were there, and only John McClaine where some innocent carrier wouldn't confuse him for one of the people carrying out this atrocity.
