Getting more excited =/= taken seriously.
Atlanta is a good team with veteran players. They would have adjusted the defense accordingly with AD, aka played differently, but I think they take the game just as seriously.
You're also implying that AD is a Lebron level player. Cool.

As messed up as it sounds Boom has been one of the staunchest supporters of the team so far this season.

Not in the least. Not sure Davis will ever be the best player in the league with what Towns is showing by year 3 he could be considered superior to Davis by many.
