Looking for something close to slopes. Have never stayed and mountain lodging looks like it's spread out. Mountain House or River Run areas?

If you are willing to walk a little or ride the shuttle prices go way down. It's not that big so as long as you're on the slope side of the hwy you should be good
east side has a little more nightlife

I'm going in February and there didn't seem to be too many ski in/out that could accommodate 6 .
Chateau Dumond was the closest to the "other" lifts, so we got one of those. The owner swears to me it is a less than 5 minute walk to the lift.
That said, everything seems pretty accessible. I just didn't want to carry my kids shite too far.
ETA: There was a solid lodging selection on AirBNB

River Run village is right in the middle of the shops and is walking distance to the gondola. We stayed in Dakota lodge a few years ago. Check VRBO.

Stayed at the Keystone Lodge and Spa last winter. I highly recommend it. Free shuttle to the base of the gondola with free ski storage there too. Pretty well appointed hotel rooms with heated pool, hot tub and sauna.

You can do whatever you want. The Keystone cops aren't very bright.

I've been skiing Keystone fairly regularly for many years. True ski in/out is rare, one complex at river run base, has Eagle in the name. River Run is great for convenience, close to lifts and restaurants/bars. Condos tend to be a little small and can be noisy. Some nice condos just up the river that have shuttle stop directly out front , works well. Keystone Lodge is very good if you're looking for a hotel .

LINK to a friend's place . This is in the heart of the resort. Balcony overlooks the main common area where the fire pits are and stuff. Can't get any closer to the lifts. 2 bedroom 2 bath. Has underground parking.
Edit: this unit is in the River Run village that others are mentioning. It's the building closest to the lifts. Has lockers downstairs to leave all your ski gear in which makes it nice and easy
