Nick might have won a couple more big games, but it's hard to say for sure.

If Saban doesn't get backed into the 2011 championship ridiculously by the media and idiot voters then he probably has as many NCs as Miles since he has been at Bama. LSU probably plays the same inspired ball in NC they had played all season if the system wasn't manipulated to get Bama a mulligan.

I think he is sick of Bama fans and Bama media mostly.

FWIW there was a rumor that Kirby Smart, Thompson, and Kevin Steele got into a heated argument after the sugar bowl in 2014 that Saban has to break up and it left those guys wanting to get the hell out ASAP. Saban really didn't want Steele to leave.

Both guys were told to find other jobs. Nick liked KS has known him along time. LT is a POS always has been and always will be. If you like you wife don't let her around lance he don't cull anything if you know what I mean!

He was clearly flustered. It's on his mind in a big way and he knows it's more than being tired.

Saban has never been a nice person. He's always been an a-hole as far back as I can remember. It's just viewed differently when he's got your team winning.

Was Saban this much of a jerk for no reason at LSU?

Yeah, and not just shite like this. (Oh, and he was pissed when they asked about Steele - he blew it off like he was just tired of answering LSU questions, but he was specifically miffed about Steele - there's something there).

At the football office, NO ONE was allowed to speak to him, unless spoken to first by Saban - no one was even allowed to make eye contact, unless he was talking to them.

The AD, mainly Bertman, got so tired of dealing with his annual flirtations with NFL teams, there was an actual sigh of relief when he took his "dream job" (at which he only lasted 2 years and is rightly considered a failure - at a level where it is much harder to cheat, although his mentor at New England does a pretty fair job of it) and here is where it landed us:

Saban recommends Houston Dale Nutt (which is how I know that coming back to the SEC must have been his backup plan all along - either ruin LSU or make it possible for his return) - and, out of courtesy, I think he was interviewed.

But the guy who really stood out was Petrino. The powers that be felt he had the right resume, skills, potential, offensive genius, etc.. He comes in and BLOWS the interview - came off as the complete a-hole he is. So, Skip looks around and says something to the effect, "I can't take 4 to 6 years of another a-hole like we just had."

Then, poor, ole, dumb Les Miles shows up. Apparently, by the time he got to the interview office, he was already introducing himself to the football operations staff and told the interviewers how Bo Schembechler told him what kind of a special place LSU was when he was a young assistant coach.

Boom. They hired the nice guy for a change.

There is information out there from folks close to the program who would not have a reason to lie. He treated folks in the admin building as if they were all inferior and once told one of our ST players that they were a little C*(JJT*&!. Then there was the blow up in the locker room after the Cap One Bowl when one of our DBs had to be restrained from striking Saban on his way out for the last time.

Lol at Saban saying he hasn't looked at LSU on film yet

This. He said he hasn't looked at us yet. Then follows it up with he is doing a great job they are playing great defense. He and everyone else knows he has looked at our game film.

Also agree with taking miles over him. We might have had a better run with saban at the helm the whole time. However we have HD a great run with les. I'll take the guy who is a class act, the guy who has fun.

I remember someone posting awhile back, an alabama fan said he is never happy even if they win and play a great game he always has a problem with something. I'll take the guy who understands it's kids playing this game and are going to make mistakes. Even if they don't play the best, of he gets a W, he is happy and acknowledges they had fun out there.

He's under Les pressure. Miles is a genius... If you beat him, and that's a big if, you beat the village idiot according to many but if you lose to him and your name is Nick Saban... Well, that's just unthinkable. He's winning but he's being questioned about it and he's plenty pissed... We could see a meltdown on Nov 7th and it would be glorious

Nutt wasn't that bad if you remember how bad Arkansas was before him. He was never championship material though.

Petrino seems like more of a sociopath than Saban,

True. Petrino bombed the interview since his arrogance was suffocating. There was a reason why we said NO when NS asked for his old job back in 2006. And no, nobody at LSU regretted that decision. We'd whether win with class and CLM . Remember guys like AD's and folks in the Athletic complex would have to deal with a HC on a daily basis.

He hasn't even looked at LSU YEAH, RIGHT!

Of all of the "rivalries" he speaks of, what team does he take TWO WEEKS TO REST UP AND PREPARE FOR.

Hint: not Tennessee.

I mentioned that play to some gump fans I know when they were crying after the iron bowl a couple years ago, Hail Marys happen, but they're only forgivable if they're caught on a fluke bounce in the end zone. How do you let someone catch the ball and run to the end zone on the last play?

He's brilliant, a perfectionist, and a workaholic - which is a lethal combination as a football coach.
It's why he's the best.

He doesn't suffer fools, and he considers most journalists to be so.

To answer your question, when he was at LSU he would get very short very fast (not a height joke) when asked a question he didn't want to answer - which was often.

The story of him calling Mauck and Clayton in immediately after the 2004 Sugar Bowl is emblematic of his personality and work ethic.

I liked his fire and was happy to have him when he was here, but recognized him as someone who would never be satisfied.

Miles - warts and all - provides a much better balance and in my view represents the university, the state, and most importantly the young men who play for him much better.
