Wife and I went last night for a quick bite before some drinks at Lock & Key. Sat at the bar, had a French 75 and a Gimlet. Drinks were decent enough.

Ordered a $22 cheese platter. It came with cheddar (their house made, I assume?), a goat, and a blue. Some raw, thinly sliced, watery red onion and soggy green apples, barely spiced pecans, and toasted baguette. No cured meats, mustards, or pickles. For $22, it was a complete freaking joke.

No idea what the rest of the menu is like, but based on this experience were not super jazzed to give it another shot.

Horribly overpriced cheese and charcuterie boards are very quickly becoming one of my biggest restaurant annoyances. I appreciate the need for a markup, but when you charge $25 for something I can, and do, routinely put together at home for $5, that's just treating me like an idiot.

Funny. My first time there went exactly the same. Got the cheese plate and laughed at it.

It hasn't really impressed me more as I've returned
