The point is that it's stupid to have two gunners on the outside when the other team has no one back returning, no matter what the result of the play is.

No not really,
It was blocked correctly. So then if you want to blame someone blame the personal protector who counts the overloads. It is his job to get them in max.
Besides that, the snap if fielded ends the game, hell if he doesn't throw it, it ends the game.
This was on the players not the coaches.
This was a 1:10000 scenario that people are piling on because they think they are smarter than people who do it for a living are.
