There is a ton of crap in this thread. First you need to see what kind it is. Most common are calcium oxalate. If it is this, there are a ton of causes. Could be dehydration, high calcium, low vitamin d, parathyroid problems, and on and on. Take vitamin b and magnesium. This will help to keep this type of stone from forming. Everyone is different with the pain. I get toradol and dilaudid from the doctor and will still have pain. Like another poster said, use a heating pad with pain pills to make it bearable.
