My wife has chronic kidney stones. Literally, one a month. Most aren't bad, about the size of a piece of sand. You can see them on a scan, just sitting there. It's when they get stuck in your ureter tube that's the worst for her. She just had outpatient surgery a month ago to remove it because regular lithotripsy wouldn't be effective.

Then she has to pull out the stent five days later.
