I think that story needs a few more years.
Maybe after we are 10 years into this playoff system and there is some interest in looking back at the old system.
The 30 for 30 should really be the SEC dominance of the era and that story should be a part of it.

I don't know about 21-0 specifically, but they should definitely do a 30 for 30 on those two teams. Even in preseason everyone knew it'd be a battle of the unbeatens. Each week that went by it just got bigger and bigger, and from day one a rematch was discussed. That was one hell of a season.

I went to the Bama New York bar for a day game before going to the LSU bar for the night game in 2012, and a Tide fan came up to me and started giving me a little shite about 21-0, just shits and giggles. I ordered us a couple beers and asked where he was from and when he graduated from Bama.
Now y'all ain't gon' believe this, but it turns out that the guy didn't even go to Bama. He went to some other school that I'd never even heard of, and he didn't even graduate. I told him "I'll have both these beers then. I don't buy drinks for sidewalk fans. Only real people."

since the turn of the century Bama and LSU have met 16 times, and LSU has won 9 of them. included 4 overtime games.
yet since Bama won the last 4 matchups, including 21-0, they seem to forget how most of 2000-2010 went.
in the end it's a fantastic rivalry.

Nope. ESPN would have to admit that they engineered the rematch in order to get a playoff instituted.
