Obviously our special teams this year is horrendous. Never seen it be so bad. Very unlike LSU. I don't see how it STILL hasn't been fixed. Some players need to get pulled. Specifically Teuhema, Quinn, Williams. Maybe Teuhema 2014 but he looks fat and slow this season, he has made zero impact on this unit so far. Same for Williams, he is a great running back but I don't see him as a good tackler and he's never near the ball, too slow. Quinn is way too soft. This dude has no aggression to go down the field and make a tackle. I feel as if Miles only has him in this unit because he has fallen so far down the WR depth chart that Miles feels bad. He wants to utilize him somehow, unfortunately Quinn isn't doing anything positive. Put some guys out there who WANT to make an impact. Guys like Guice. Also think they need to move Donte Jackson inside more. Everyone raves about his speed so use it. Being a safety valve on the outside isn't really doing much.

No one is maintaining lane discipline due to BDPs shitty coaching. Doesn't matter who you put in there.

LOL. He needs to go to. You realize that if he is near a loud fart he may fall down. He needs some time at S & C.....and then he may be a good one. What good is speed if you go down so easy? Not hating...just being honest. You talking about Quinn being soft....yet you don't mention the lack of physicality with Jackson....hmmmmm

With Mills back this week, Thomas needs to be used as a key gunner on coverage teams. That would help some. Chark's speed might come in handy as well.

Quinn was the only one in a position to make a stop on that kick off USCe took to the house, but he was being held back. He was basically dragging the guy behind him.

Really our only issue is coverage team. Not the entire special teams. I think that can be fixed with personell changes. Just like we saw on the last kick off yesterday.

Williams I'm fine with on kick return and would like he and guice back there the rest of the season.

If the dumb ref would have called the block in the back there would have been 7 less points.

But the lane integrity was terrible, and the overall performance of the kickoff coverage team this year has been horrible.

Coach Miles is reactive, not proactive.

Miles will react to an adverse event but can't assess a problem and make a change to PREVENT the adverse event.

As such, I don't expect a change WRT the special teams unless something really bad happens that costs LSU a game.

so you say. i'm sure there are problems he's assessed and corrected before you even knew it was a problem. and his changes just may not be in agreement with YOUR changes but that doesn't mean he is being reactive only.

I respect your opinion but you really are calling Miles too stupid to be a problem solver. I call your opinion bull shite.

Miles is a problem solver, but, only after the problem bashes him in his skull like a baseball bat to his noggin'.

That's just my opinion based on 11 years of observation.

Good news - the punting/punt coverage has stabilized - which tells me all hope is not lost.

Bad news - kicking and kick coverage has regressed - at least until the "specialty kick" era. Thank G-d we had a big lead.

So Pevato is coaching them to ignore lane discipline. Right, got ya.
Look Einstein, the PLAYERS have to execute the coaching and it is THE PLAYERS that are fricking up.

Best dude out there is Guice....Louis is probably a close 2nd, but he's not quick enough to have an impact like some of the other guys. Voorhies, Battle, Paris should be stronger out there.

Swap Williams for Adams now that mills should be back soon? Get some tackling ability out there. It seems we have too many offensive guys on this coverage team.

Wasn't Guice the one that was way out of his lane on the kickoff returned for a TD?
