I've read-up on smolov, and it states it should only be done by people with like 350+ squats. It talks about how individuals with squats below that simply can't handle it.

I'm gonna try the box squats. I think it's a mental/comfort thing like people are saying. My deadlift is pretty respectable and much higher than my squat.

If he's really serious, I would say smolov. A good friend did it because he torn his bicep, forced to workout legs only. A few months after his training cycle, now has the 4th highest squat in his class nationally. Also, read up on depth jumps.

True.

I just assumed your squat was that high already.

If you're plateauing already then a huge part is mental.

Pause and box squats is what you need. I'd even suggest zercher squats for assistance.

Lay off the bodybuilding curls and extensions for a few weeks.
