The show is fricking stupid. The writers are terrible. Can't blame HBO, the producers know what sell to audiences.

Qualifications to write for this show: Do you know the meaning of the word "symbolism".

I was thinking maybe she found the egg on one of her runs and put it in the box for safe keeping and it hatched? I have no idea WTF is going on...

A lot of last year’s cast appeared in the credits so they are either going to show up in Texas or there will be separate plotlines developed in two different locations.

From snake bit prehistoric women to teenage girls running naked through the woods last night’s episode was a lot of random scenes.

I thought that was a great episode. Lot's of weird shite going on as expected but also some very intriguing plots.

I get the feeling that for everyone that comes to miracle the population has to stay the same. So when people move in , in response people will die keeping the numbers the same but that's just a rough guess.

Also, WTF is up with Moses?

My favorite quote was when the black guy said, I was locked up for attempted murder and he followed with " I didn't try hard enough". If my neighbor said some shite like that I would immediately arm my entire house.

Just watched the episode, my first thoughts are positive and like many have posted season 1 was exceptional as long as you stuck with it.

My crackpot take away from the episode, from the opening scene to the ending scene, is the town/location is actually cursed. People think Miracle, TX is imperious to harm but in fact it is the foundation of bad shite.

I'm excited to see how it unfolds.

I too miss the music and opening theme track.

Bird was dead. She buried it in the box, came back to check, and it was alive again.

Guy drags a goat into the cafe and slits it's throat. People react like it's BAU, even going so far as to catch the entire moment on their smart phones. Teenagers streaking through the woods. Nice. A guy living up on a platform. The fire dept has some sort of odd roll. This society has become very strange.
Bird in the box, the lady watering the lawn in her wedding dress. This 1st episode was so weird, but certainly did well enough to have me interested to figure out WTF is going on.

Yea, I got a little tired of Season 1 because of this. Season 2 has introduced all kinds of weirdness. I'm not very patient, so I can see myself getting pretty annoyed as more weirdness comes about if there's no real answers for a while.

The main black dude was sooooooo good, he made me hate him so much so quickly. Basically every line he said and look he gave, I'm trying to figure out what his deal was. He was fantastic.

I think they changed the intro to get away from the religious Rapture type of label. The original intro screamed 'religion'. I like the visuals of this new intro but the music is very out of place. Good thing I usually DVR and fast forward through thhe intros anyway.

I don't have a problem with the weirdness. Not every quirky mystery needs to be solved. I see some of the weird things as devices to tell us how weird the place is.

The guy watering the lawn in the wedding dress. IDK, maybe a cross dresser who was playing dress up during the Departure, now he refuses to change clothes ever again.

I would like to know what happens to the girls. Maybe that's why Garvey is there, a former police chief who will be called upon to use his skills to solve the mystery.

Simple explanation as to where the water went. The earthquake opened up a fissure in the earth, like the one we saw encased in glass on the road, and the water drained into it and is gone. I doubt the girls were swimming in it at the time as the earthquake happened at 3AM. No way those girls were out until 3AM. Also, the car was left running with the radio blaring and doors locked. That is strange. Almost like they were sitting in the vehicle when they were Departed.

Maybe a small scale Departure happened just to the residence of this town, because they were skipped last time, and the show is going to be how they blame their bad fortune on newcomers like the Garveys? Who knows? Lots of ways this thing could play out.

Watched it last night, plenty of wtf-ness for this season premiere.

No One Expects the Firefighter Inquisition!!
--The locals are leery of people moving in because apparently everyone wants to move there (due to the no-disappearances thing). Things are so bad the federal government has it as a protected area of sorts.

The lack of disappearances brings in lots of tourism, but the "local law" doesn't want it getting out of hand. The guy that can read the palm prints has a legit ability and using it overtly like that would create lots of problems if word got out widely, so he had to be taught a lesson.

The wife being able to bring the dead bird back to life is a similar thing, thus why she is keeping it very quiet.

The guy on the tower knows things. What things I have no idea, but he's up there for a reason and he sent off that letter to a specific person for a reason.

My big question is the girls: what the hell were they running naked through the woods for? (not that I am complaining ) The odd look on the black chick's face when she lifter her arms wasn't exactly of winning a race, it was more of accomplishing something that just needed to be done.

And the goat slaughter in the middle of the restaurant? WTF?

Bride-sprinkler... I can write that off to just random crazy.

The scene at the beginning with the cave chick though, that's what confused me the most. That was a VERY LONG scene with some rather odd things happening just to show us that there is tectonic activity in the area (not fracking, as the old fart setting up the booth said). What was the rest about? The pregnancy? The child living?

The intro sort of backed up the even-Steven population theory above. Man dies in the cave, baby is born. Mother dies from snakebite, nomad shows up.

Of course, if that were always the case, the town would have a population of 2, not 9K+. Maybe it's an off and on thing, and the earthquakes are the sign that the population evening out is occurring. They thought fracking was the cause of them, so that would imply that they had stopped for a lengthy period before starting up again.

What an absolutely wild first episode. Last season really grew on me. I'm hoping for more of the score from last season, but awesome first episode. And yeah, the new intro is like something out of True Blood.
