What's really sad about that decade, was how our program was run - Joe Dean was extremely tight with money, which caused us to hire subpar coaches (Hallman) and stick with them for way too long - this really killed our football program. However, when Dinardo was hired, we really started getting some good talent - but, coaching and lack of talent and depth at key positions always kept us from taking the program to the next level. Nick Saban sucks balls for going to Bama, but you really can't understate the fact he transformed our football program - for that, I am greatdul -- the 90's were rough.

You can't really blame Dean and then credit Saban. Without Emmert there is no Saban, he was the single biggest influence on the program.
