I would have rather made a deal for a TE that's actually a threat in the passing game, but some of the over reaction in this thread is pretty funny. Hicks was benched, and likely wasn't going to get much playing time going forward. This was pretty much one team's garbage for another's. This dude will probably get more playing time going forward than Hicks would have anyway. Nothing to get worked up over either way.

Hicks was pretty productive not too long ago for us. New England fans forgot this guy was on their roster.

That's what I don't get

Literally there hasn't been a shred of evidence that they've been making the right moves since 2011. Yet, we have grown men on here backing their every move like they're infallible.

He had a solid rookie season, but hasn't done much since. He has two tackles in three games. I'm not defending the move, but this is far from a trade rape.

You say stuff like this, thinking that you're making a point.

I'd say gutting our scouting department after the bad drafts, and then having the 2015 draft were moves that were right.

Maybe. But he was an up and coming talent pretty recently. Poor timing

This is where the weak ownership sticks out like a sore thumb. There is no accountability for Mickey and Sean on Airline Dr. None whatsoever.

So it was okay that we waited for over a half of decade of bad drafts?

No,but you said there was zero evidence that we do anything right.

Now, if you had said, "We've made too many mistakes," I'd agree with you.
Say what you mean.

Zero ownership would have done anything different at this point yet. Seats getting very warm now.

do all of our D-line players just hit a wall so quickly now?

Sedrick Ellis had a good 2010 then flamed out.

Hicks had a good 2013 and nothing else notable really. We signed Aubrayo Franklin a few years ago from the 49ers but he didn't do much here. He looked better when he played for the 9ers.

Tyrunn Walker was a good player but was only a rotational guy?

whoever the D-line coach is seems incompetent.

nope. And its not even really about the trade, it's more about not being able to develop a guy that has a lot of talent, into, at the very least, a serviceable starter.
