His talent is undeniable. Not sure what people expect from him considering he played nearly every snap. Of course he's gonna take plays off and he looked lazy (standing, flat footed, poor technique) on defense at times. But to play both ways, you have to conserve somewhere. But his ability to turn it on when he hits open field is jaw dropping.

I think that's why people are jaded a little. Once you see him break it into the open the talent disparity is obvious. He's head and shoulders above anyone else on the field. Everyone knows he can break it every time he touches it and when he doesn't, they get frustrated with a kid who is so much better than everyone else.
This is the third time I've seen him and I leave more impressed each time. Reminds me of Charles Scott with elite speed. Hope he's a tiger.

Having seen up close nearly every high school game Devin's played, I fully understand how tired he gets and how demanding it is for him to go both ways every game. OTOH, I don't think it's unreasonable to expect him to throw a block for his teammate on the rare occasion Devin's the lead blocker. And yes, he has an unbelievable ability to quickly hit top end speed when he sees the hole.
