Yeah it seems that you dont have much fat to lose so you will probably gain weight.

every time you workout, eat a half dozen cupcakes. The body will be in conversion mode, meaning all fat intakes will be immortarized into muscle.

Well if you are not morbidly obese, lose fate and gain muscle mass you will gain weight. But it will be good weight.

You should be able to gain lean mass with any sound strength training such as wendler or the cube method.
