I used to hate this play, and I've seen a lot of negativity towards it. It worked really well against MSST, though, and I like that the RB has the option to take it up the middle or around the edge. If it was a handoff, that option wouldn't exist. I'm beginning to love it.

I like it. I just don't like it 10 times a game.

It's a good play when you have a back with great vision (i.e. j. hill, ridley, fournette) he has multiple options to attack the defense. I do think they might run it a little too much and it gets a bad rap because people on this sight only see the negative plays. Tom Luginbill on ESPN Film Room did a great job of breaking it down last night on ESPNU.

I like it a lot. Mett tossing to Jeremy Hill is still my desktop background image.

Love it when it works; hate it when it doesn't

It boggles my mind why we don't have a play-action pass off it though......

I like it more and more because the morons that always bitch about everything seem to REALLY hate it.

I wanna see them fake it at the goal line and throw it up to Desean or Dupre

That's not true.

Happens all the time with a handoff as well

I feel like we scored 2 TDs off of it last week.

Never heard of it. Is it from the secret playbook that we always hold back so that other teams don't get to see it on film?

Two of LF's td's were also to the short side of the field....another gripe amongst many.

1. it's not a dive play
2. it's our base run play, so running it 10x a game, at least, is to be expected

It's just a standard power O with a different means of delivery ... Every team worth its salt runs a variation of the Power O. LSU fans need to stop overthinking this. At this point it is just complaining for the sake of complaining.

Stevan Ridley got to the NFL using it. It's a fine tool to have in the tool box.

I've never seen it as effective as it was last game. It looked natural. It throws teams off. It makes the hb pass almost inevitable.

i'm good with it, and have been ever since the Oregon game. It seems like it might give the back a little wider area to choose his path, whereas the hand-off off-tackle is a little more specific to where the back will run. If the defense is able to gum up the intended point of attack (say, between the RT and RG), but opens up between the C and RG, the back has more chance to find the open hole.

I absolutely loved it when we went uptempo vs Oregon with that play, it was like a boxer working his opponent over with body blows in a corner.

It does seem like a Les Miles LSU signature play, much like USC had "student body right" etc. Toss dive to a 230 lb back up the gut= LSU ball
