Do you believe LSU will beat a) Alabama and/or b) Ole Miss.

no clue

i already posted my thoughts on those games (and beefense even agreed) earlier today

our defensive stamina is going to be a major factor in those games and i have no idea how miles/steele manage the minutes from this point until those games. our front 7 lacks major depth and will likely be run down by those games, and in-game they may get grinded

if that happens, we will lose if we haven't developed a legitimate, complex, and varied passing scheme

because we wanted to win the game is the clear answer. We put that thing in hand and we pass way more.

Also we passed for more last night. So thats a good step forward. we are starting to see those vertical routes lead to yards.

We get it...the run game is strong. But we cant win the NC without a passing game....period.
Look no further than Bama 2012 offense.

Lacy/Yeldon had 2430 yds combined/32 TDs/6.4 ypc average.
McCarron--211/314 for 2933 yds/30 TDs

Thats balance...something we don't have yet. Lacy-Yeldon were just as important to Bama's offense as LF is to ours but they still got their QB involved and his success opened holes for the backs.

Then re-read the OP.

not by his 4th start of his career. It took almost 13 before he really hit his stride.

What's dumb is that you can't see your own hypocrisy. You are more than glad to claim that "LSU won, game plan perfect." But if LSU loses you won't apply the same axiom.

Many on this site, however, tend to see things in the games and understand that either:

A) even though LSU won, there were several things that kept the game more competitive than it should have been
B) even though LSU lost, the coaching staff did everything they could to keep LSU close
C) that game played out exactly as it should have

Your attitude this year has been that the only possible conclusion from each game this year is "C". Which means that you are only a pom pom shaker and don't truly understand athletics.

Good job hunting me down and then telling me you don't care what I have to say, btw. Melt.

Yeah, his coaches brought a different game play to his 13th start while his opponent's coaches brought the same exact game plan of begging for special teams or defensive touchdowns to carry the day.

Which if we all want to be truthful, is at the very crux of this entire argument. Since that very day many LSU fans don't trust the head coach to adjust his game plan when needed.

Sometimes the other team is better, just like sometimes people actually know what "hypocrisy" means.

Numbers aren't pompoms. I've cited quite a few significant stats in this thread. You'll not get anywhere with the crazy idea that I don't know what I'm talking about.

If you're steamrolling the opponent, you don't pass. This idea is as old as the forward pass itself.

And maybe the quality of the opponent has something to do with it, too.

But what do I know? When you're running 7 ypc, that's time to air it out.

Between the OP and Beefence, there is more self bumping of threads than I have ever seen.

You started this thread the day after we won 21-19 following a delay of game penalty that pushed Miss State out of field goal range. We scored 7 points the last 45 minutes of that football game. That's hardly "steamrolling" our opponent.

Honestly, do you guys believe this team is incapable of passing or will be unable to do so because they haven't passed more through three games of the season? I think that's kind of wacky, really.

Harris has shown he can throw the ball. He has shown pretty good progress, given he just had his fourth start.

There is no reason to believe that the passing game will not come. Please, spare me with pointing to last year's shitty season. It's not particularly representative of anything. Did Russell, Flynn and Mettenberger perform sufficiently for you guys when they were here? Has Miles had a stroke and forgotten how to use the quarterback?

Bravo.

Harris and the receivers need to start developing chemistry and a stable, competent passing game.

We're going to need a decent passing game to beat Bama and Ole piss to get to atlanta.
