But the early ESPN Big Ten game routinely lasts less than 3 hours, probably because they run the football so damn much. I think the Stanford/Northwestern game ended at about 1:40 and I'm not even exaggerating.

For some reason, a lot of SEC games last forever. I actually think I remembered the 2011 SEC Championship Game between LSU and Georgia lasting about 7 hours.

However, the NFL has their stuff so damn calculated at this point. They know how to make virtually every game last 3 hours and 10 minutes. Something strange has to happen for the first game to run into the 2nd-game window. But that's what people are getting so sick of with the NFL too--that everything is so damn calculated. Seriously, they find ways to artificially slow fast games down. If it goes too fast and a player suddenly starts limping to the sidelines, the guy with the orange gloves on the sideline will tell the referees to stop the game because they're throwing some commercials in as fast as they can.

That game ended a little after 2.

People hate CBS but there's nothing better than that early November game where it's crisp and cool and the shadows are long and the game is breaking 4 hours.
