Do not use any splintered arrows. The last thing you want is an arrow to have a split when the bow transfers all of its energy. Splintered arrows can fragment and stick you. Always flex an arrow before use. If it splinters, throw it away.

Yes, flex and inspect your carbon arrows before use. If you can hear or see any cracks dispose. Lucky your arrow didn't fall low enough to shoot threw your grip hand.
