Barf and Seapickle This is a self contained unit and I don't see where I can bleed off the pressure.

Mine isn't self contained so yours may be different. If you do not have two lines from pump to hydro ram then on the unit somewhere should be some sort of bleed off valve for times like this. Google your unit and see.
My pump is in the boat and ram is on the jack plate. Send and return lines. Just unscrew the return line and ram falls.
