How can I look up a vehicle owner by the license plate #? It has "commercial" behind the license, so maybe I would be directed to a company, which is fine too.

I am having an issue with this commercial driver and would like to know who to complain too.

TIA

I don't think that's public info. You'd need a contact with access to those records, including DMV's, and law enforcement agencies.

If they don't have a "hows my driving? call this #______" then I'm not sure. just flip him/her off and move on with your day.

if it is a CMV, you can find out the company by their DOT number assuming the have one. LINK
then input the DOT number and should tell you the company and an address. Generally if it has a commercial tag, it should have a DOT number.

ETA: Disregard, A Tahoe does not fit into the weight class that requires a DOT number.

Those are good ideas, but there is no DOT # or "how's my driving #".... just a regular looking Tahoe with license plate that has commercial on it.

Dude has been a real prick.

Let's just say its boarding on stalking behavior.

He is one of those "holier than thou" types... he didn't like my stop sign stop, and now he thinks he can find me on the road and tell me about it. All the while, he proceeds to go 10 miles over the speed limit, no turn signal etc. I told him about his reckless driving and he says, "Well yeah I do." This has happened a few times now. Not really sure what his beef is.

Is there a name of the company on the vehicle? I know in Georgia you do not have to have commercial plates unless the vehicle has a GVWR of 10,001 lbs or more and is used for business. I think a Tahoe would be around 7500 GVWR. Just call him into the police saying you think he is a drunk driver.

You should really let that alone. Life is too short. Neither you nor he will win that feud.

You need to play this little game: The best thing that will happen if you get his info is ___________. The worst thing that can happen if you get his info and pursue it in some way is ____________.

Nothing to gain.
Lots to lose.

Record his behavior (if dangerous) with a GoPro. Turn in to local police.

Other than that, let the teenager do what he wants.
