The NFL’s personal conduct policy was altered before the start of last season to call for a six-game suspension on charges of domestic abuse while giving the commissioner a certain amount of latitude. When Hardy was charged with his episode, the policy called for a two-game suspension.

This is the NFLPA’s point of contention in Hardy’s case. The union’s argument is that Hardy’s punishment should reflect what was in place at the time he was charged, which is two games. It will argue four games is a random determination and some sort of compromise between that number (two) and the current six-game mandate.

He would likely get it reduced because of the same "technicality" aka. due process.

That' s why I think he will at least try-

Hardy's timeline-
-he was facing two games without pay
-missed 15 games with pay (same # as AP)
-legal case toss out
-The NFL’s personal conduct policy was altered before the start of last season to call for a six-game suspension
-got ten games without pay (appealed)
-got four games without pay

Unlike Peterson who was plead out to a crime. Hardy case was dropped. Why is Hardy missing 4 additional games?
