The only caveat is that due to scarcity, the resale values tend to be very high. I'd guess that if you paid $75K for an X and then sold it in one year, you'd get at least $65K for it. That's why I've decided to take the plunge and get one - I just don't think the downside risk is nearly the same as if you buy an expensive BMW or similar.

The P85D Model S ($100K+) just broke Consumer Reports rating system giving it a 103 out of 100 score...Tesla make a damn good car which is reason enough to buy it. The resale value is gravy
