Now that most of preseason is finished, and we open Next week the smart drafts all happen over the next 5 days or so.

With that said, if you have the #1 Pick, what's the play?

Clearly AP or Bell (MAYBE Lacy). But which?

Preseason hasn't ever separated your Top Backs, they just don't get enough work. If you had it, what do you do?

I want to take AP, but I have PTSD from taking him twice last year with early picks. Both leagues I ended up 3rd and 4th, so my season wasn't killed, but having 3 Viking RBs on your roster at one point is something you don't want to go through again

With injuries to Pouncey, does that make Bell more appealing or less? Both will see stacked boxes most of the time just to stop them. Thoughts?

Standard
AP
Lacy
Bell
Lynch
Charles

The less people in the league, the more I'm willing to move Bell up to 2.

PPR
Lacy
Bell
Charles
AP
CJ Anderson

I kind of agree on Lacy being a solid all-around pick with the probably the lowest ceiling out of any of the Top 5 backs. He's safe, he'll get his yards and catches, but probably won't blow up like Bell last season or AP or Charles just based on workload.

Dude; he didn't get hurt, he didn't suck, he was suspended for the year for child abuse. I'm pretty sure that isn't going to happen again this year and I'm pretty sure he is still a stud. Yeah you got burnt, but in this case I think it's pretty easy to get over.

I've got the 3rd pick in my 12 team draft and honestly... I would be happy with any of the following three, and worried with any of the following three

I've got it set up as...

Lacy - Huge opportunity with Nelson out, but Rodgers is happy spreading the wealth around much like Luck. Lacy is THE runner up there. Tiny concussion worry, but not really a big deal. If the Packers are down, I see them trusting Rodgers and his WRs more than Lacy though.
AP - Year of rest, chip on his shoulder, has a QB and receivers that will finally take a bit of pressure off him. That offensive line is still muddled... He's got McKinnon to spell him as well. If the Vikings are losing badly, will he stay on the field?
Charles - Mostly the #1 guy there with bits and pieces of Knile Davis. Maclin and Kelce are going to free up some space for him. He's going to run wild IMO. Injuries kept him at bay last year though... And Andy Reid is Andy Reid. Should be in the game in any situation.
Bell - Suspended for two games, you're short on RB depth for about 20% of the season. Martavis isn't keeping the safeties at bay for another 2 games after that. Steelers fans say the backup center is adequate enough. All sorts of shifty, and he says he didn't feel 100% last year?!?! His receiving ability and running ability make him a RB for the whole game.
Lynch - Skittles. Strong, steady, beast mode. The only worry is he's lost Unger. Will Russell's constant scrambling make for more opportunities for him? Or will he not have enough time to escape sacks? The defense should keep scores close enough for Lynch to be in the game throughout.

And after all this... Even though I have Bell as 4th, I think I may go with him. I really want Lacy/Jamaal too though.

I agree, just a slight joke on that one. It's just a tough call that's all.

That's my lean.

I'm hoping my league is dumb and Hill's current ADP of 16 slips to 20. Or I just take Forsett in that slot....or maybe, maybe draft Gore early. Grab one of AJ Green/Cobb/Megatron and I'd feel ok. (All based on current ADPs)

I've been seeing Hill go higher than that in practice mocks. I got him in the 2nd round of a 10 man league, but I saw him go in the first for a 12 man team I am in.

It's really the more teams that make the playoffs in a league.

If its 12-team, 4 playoff spots, Bell drops.
If its 12-team, 6 playoff spots, Bell is arguably #1.
If its 10-team, 4 playoff spots, Bell is arguably #1.
If its 10-team, 6 playoff spots, Bell is hands down #1.

Seems we get a lot of questions from the latter, 10-team, 6 playoff spot league posters worried about Bell's 2 game suspension (and even adding in his bye week as a flaw, lol), when in that format only 4 teams miss the playoffs and Bell is easily #1 by the immense ceiling he has (26ppg PPR last half in 2014).

Still don't know our draft order, but if I'm towards the bottom end of 10 I'm going WR/WR, RB, and waiting until late to snag Brady/Antonio Gates and not worry about the first 4 games. Looking forward to stealing Funchess and Doug Martin

I'd certainly take Hill if I had a low pick in a 12-team.

This is 10, 6 playoff spots, 0.5 PPR, and more casual than uber-competitive. He might drop. I think.
