Losing Keenan Lewis hurts, but damn the attitude on this board is no fun. Why even watch the season when you can't help but be a miserable frick?

+1

It is pretty damn pathetic

God I hope you're right on our pass rush. Having trouble not writing off the first half of the year and just hoping for the best down the stretch to make a run for the division. Aside from Brees looking especially sharp, it feels like any optimism from the draft and offseason moves has been almost entirely eradicated.
Wait, are you saying that you aren't optimistic about the draft?

Other than Peat being out of shape (which seems so weird for a Stanford grad) and P. J. Williams going on I.R., the entire draft will make the 53 man roster and contribute.

Anthony will start at MLB. Kikaha will be a starting OLB/edge rusher. Swann will contribute on special teams and at corner (he's had a solid preseason). Tyeler Davison and Davis Tull will rotate in on the front 7. Marcus Murphy will return kicks and punts and probably fill in for C. J. Spiller on offense until he returns.

Look, the Saints are hurting. There are a lot of impact players that won't start the year on the field. But I don't feel as hopeless as I would had any of this happened last year.

ETA: I forgot to mention Garrett Grayson, who will make the team.

This isn't the sky is falling territory at all yet. People need to chill. We'll be fine without any more injuries and will be great when Lewis comes back.

Plus I think our renewed love of ground and pound will help keep the D off the field.

Vaccaro is the only starting member of the Secodary projected play week 1. Not off to a good start.

Since when is Browner or Breaux projected to miss Week 1?

We had zero pass rush this preseason. Aren't we like the only team in preseason not to get a sack? It's been three games!

We had 1 last game.

The patriots and Texans ran a ton of 3 step drops with quick routes anyways. That isn't going to lead to a lot of sack opportunities

We're going to have to blitz this year, but at least we've loaded up on physical man-man corners this year.

I also think our run D will be solid allowing more pass rush opportunities. 4.8 YPC last year was pathetic. Was probably even worse the last half of the season

Edit: we gave up 5.6 YPC in the last 6 games. Pathetic

Not so much in the first half but in the second half, the Texan QBs were throwing a lot of balls in the dirt because KiKaha and others were right in their face after blowing through the offensive line. Maybe not a sack, but good enough if they can do that on the regular.

Yep, pats were def trying to protect their 2 starting QBs

Same with the Texans and Hoyer

We also sacked Brady 6x in the scrimmage when the Pats were more likely to be running their real offense
