I started the year at about 315, running 2 miles every morning before work and not drinking any soda or eating fast food I'm down to 288. Hoping to lose another 15 to 25 by the end of the year

That's great dude! Have you been readjusting your caloric intake as you lose weight? Have you incorporated any weightlifting? Your body will get use to running 2 miles a day and it won't do as much for fat loss as it use to.

My little bro (younger, but not "little") has lost about 95 pounds in about a year now. He was ~285 and is down to ~190 (6'). He didn't do anything crazy, just cut out junk, had a lot more portion control, and started easy into exercise (long walks, longer walks, bike riding, then running).
That is about 3.5 pounds a week, but it was fast at first and slowed down. 3 pounds a week doesn't sound like a ton, but if it is a lifestyle change, it will pay huge dividends in the end.
Keep it up!
