This is mainly my observation based on how people respond to graduates in certain fields. In general people seem to be more appreciative of law graduates vs engineer/scientists (physics, math, computer etc.) counterparts. All 3 professions are good but it seems people give Law so much more credit.

Being an engineer or applied scientist takes a lot of work and many people can not do it (especially the people who mock physics or math majors). So why do people discriminate against them.

Valuing someone higher does not equal discrimination.

You don't see many engineers or scientists in big time movie/TV roles like lawyers. Law is a glamorous profession

Because an engineer or scientist can't get me 300k for a fender bender. You want to put the Tesla on em or the Womack?!?

I have heard a few, like the "pizza joke". I do not know how that applies to this topic.

Jesus God man, obsess much?

Let it go. You are not a victim of anything, get on with your life.

Are you going to sue LA Tech for letting you apply to Southern?

Enough.

No. You see insecurity has different stages. For simplicity, it goes from E to S class, with S being the highest grade. (E,D,C,B,A, and finally S).

I fall in the E class. The S class people you are referring to are those who buy expensive luxuries in order to impress people to gain validation for their existence.

ETA: This is an anime reference for those savvy enough to figure it out.

Not all lawyers are living the high life and getting the good gigs. Some suck arse and aren't making shite.

Do your best. Keep you head up and quit worrying about stupid shite.

because Law has been hidden from the people.

they silently ushered out common law in the mid 40's, without so much as a whimper

civics were also ushered out of the classroom, and bottom line is, hardly a soul knows the law or their rights.

so there is a giant empty space where common knowledge used to be, and instead is a huge vacancy sign.

people need them

I am not worried. I am happy with what I am pursuing now. I just wanted some people to give me insight on this since its apparently a common phenomena.

Unless their is and underline concept I am missing, engineers and quantitative scientist are hard workers.
