Whatever you buy, test it. Put it in boiling water. I have three and they are all off by a few degrees. I have not found that money=quality in this area.

Just like everyone here recommends the maverick thermometer is an awesome tool that I frequently use.

Remote or Instant Read? If you need instant read and don't want to spend a lot of money, ThermoPop. If you don't care and want the best, Thermapen.
