Less fridge space means less freezer space.
How many of y'all are living out of the fridge?
If I were buying appliances for a house, I'd buy a fridge with no freezer and a separate stand alone freezer for the garage or utility room.

I think the best combo one can get is the stand alone Frigidaire fridge and freezer. They are actually priced really well and end up cheaper than many french door fridges for the set. Also they are based on the classic Frigidaire design. At worst the $125 control board will pop. Much better that the problems you can get with a GE or LG and Samsung. Hell LG now uses a new compressor technology they are not sharing with non certified techs. So very few will be able to work on new LG fridges with the linear compressors.
Stand alone fridge is a smart buy, but you lose your icemaker.
(unless the stand alone freezer is next to it)
