I said before knowing anything about him that we should kick the tires and see what's there. But after reading about the number thing, don't waste the time or effort. Let him be someone else's problem.

I would not pursue him at all.
HOWEVER, if he calls and says "I really like LSU and would like an opportunity", then I guess you meet with him (IMO an unofficial visit on his own dime) and then go from there.
