Just relax and be yourself. No need to study for an interview. You have no idea what they will ask. It may be a mixture of both. Re read this thread for proper answers.

There is a reason for me to think that you could be someone I know trying to frick with me. I have no information to offer you, but I apologize if you are legit.

I can tell you that there are a lot of operators who, when they work nights, locked up in a plant unable to come and go as they want.. Go nuts from time to time because they think their wife is cheating on them.

n addition, you're good at being a team player. Make sure you emphasize team and safe in all your answers. Don't use examples in which you did something or came up with something on your own. Always involve others who you worked with, in all your answers.
I'd also add, avoid saying anything negative about former employers. If they ask why did you leave _________? Even if the reason you left was due to the fact you couldn't tolerate the jackasses that you worked with, tell them while you enjoyed your time there..and say something that would justify leaving that job to go work for whoever you worked for next.

I didn't realize this was a bump thread. I see the OP got the job, but doesn't want to cross the bridge. I'll tell you this, if you have other options that are as good or better, traffic on the intercoastal, in the evening, is horrible. If you would be getting off any time that would put you going home around 4:30PM.. You can pretty much assume everyday the traffic will be backed up on the intercoastal.

Im wondering does anyone know what type of questions they will ask? Is it very technical or is it more behavioral and situational?
I don't work at Shintech. It seems like most employers ask situational questions in interviews:
- Tell me about a time you didn't get along with your boss
- Tell me about a time you argued with a co-worker
- Tell me about a time you had to solve a problem that you weren't familiar with
- Tell me about a time you didn't get your way
edit... ooops, didn't read the whole thread. Grats OP on the job.

Just curious about where you live or would be commuting from. I don't know about Shintec but the commute can be a bitch if you're coming from the east side.
Best of luck to you.
Best of luck to you.

I live in Baton Rouge on Nicholson. I commute to plaquemine for work. The commute back to BR is brutal anytime after 4pm. I guess I just have the grass is greener syndrome.

I'm sure that commute is worse. But HWY 30, HWY 73 and Ashland RD are a goddamn clusterfrick between 4-6.

I just laughed my arse for for a good 5 minutes. So much truth in so few words.

If you guys had a choice between oxychem in Geismar and Eastman chemical in st Gabriel which would you pick?

I didn't want to start a new thread for a simple question.
Posted on 6/18/16 at 10:50 pm to newintown225
Oxy is a good company. Geismer is a union plant though. So you have to take that into consideration.
