I can tell you more than I care to know about coconut water.
A few things:
1) it has to be very cold or it tastes terrible. I have no problem with warm beverages typically but coconut water is a different case altogether.
2) There are two distinct tastes of coconut water depending on whether it is pasteurized or HPP (high pressure processed). HPP will cost much more but taste way better. The leading brand for heat pasteurized is Vitacoco. There are only small brands right now that do HPP versions. Trader Joe's has a quality HPP private label. Harmless Harvest is a great branded option.
Sugar is not added to these products unless you are buying a fruit drink that is only part coconut water. Some consumers have backlash to the taste so companies have launched product offerings like Sobe's posted earlier in this thread. Those typically have added sugar.
The next big craze will be Maple water. It is gaining traction slowly and tastes alright. I prefer coconut water personally.

You will also see coconut water beginning to be branded as a sports drink alternative. There is a big market and coconut water is a terrific natural competitior to Gatorade. New brands will emerge using coconut water as the base and then enhancing it even more to make a superior sports drink.
Body Armor is a perfect example of a brand integrating coconut water. It has great financial backing and a professional athletes they sponsor.
