Alright, let's talk about resources... in our typical recruiting grounds, how many Top 10 high school QBs have been produced in the last 10 years?

I don't know, I'm not a recruiting expert, you tell me. If you want to include the states of Mississippi and especially Texas, I'm sure there has been a decent amount. Let's also not forget how talented the team around the QB has been, at least in terms of skills positions (OL has been so-so).

For two programs off the top of my head with similar resources and offensive styles, Richt is able to get reasonable if not above-average production out of his "down year" QBs (eg, Mason, Shockley), and the same can be said for Saban with McElroy and Sims.

Edit: McElroy not McCarron

I count five quarterbacks in 10 years that ended up being worth a damn.. and only one in the last six years.

2006 Matthew Stafford (TX) - signed with Georgia
2006 Jevan Sneed (TX) - signed with Texas
2007 Ryan Mallett (TX) - signed with Michigan
2008 Andrew Luck (TX) - signed with Stanford
2008 Tommy Dorman (TX) - signed with Texas A&M
2008 Darron Thomas (TX) - signed with Oregon
2008 Robert Griffin III (TX) - signed with Baylor
2009 Garrett Gilbert (TX) - signed with Texas
2009 Russell Shepard (TX) signed with LSU
2009 Tyrik Rollison (TX) - signed with Auburn
2010 Connor Wood (TX) - signed with Texas
2010 James Franklin (TX) - signed with Missouri
2012 Anthony Alford (MS) - signed with Iowa
2012 Matt Davis (TX) - signed with Texas A&M
2013 J.T. Barrett (TX) - signed with Ohio State
2014 Jerrod Heard (TX) - signed with Texas
2014 Brandon Harris (LA) - signed with LSU
2015 Kyler Murray (TX) - signed with Texas A&M
2015 Jarrett Stidham (TX) - signed with Baylor

And in that time, the state of Texas has produced 17 of these quarterbacks.. 4 of them signed with UT, 3 of them signed with A&M, and 2 with Baylor, meaning over half signed with the in-state schools.

But why don't you tell me which quarterback you would have liked to have seen Miles offer a scholarship?
