Do the cave adventure tour where you go crawling through it. It's really awesome. Go to a part of the cave no one really gets to go to!
You can also go on hikes outside the cave to explore the sinkholes.

There 4 or 5 different tours and yes it's cool to go hiking to see the sinkholes and random caves they have around the park. The tours are 2+ hours but I stopped with the family after The music city bowl omw back to chicago and we had a blast even though it was a bit cold!

We went there one weekend when I was stationed at Ft. Knox. Pretty cool place. I remember going through one chamber where the guide told us it was large enough to hold a 747 or something similar. I think your kids will have fun.

I've been about 20 times. It's great. Lots of different tours.

It is great...maybe a bit hard for the smaller child. I've taken my kids (youngest was 6 when I went), and we had a blast. We actually stayed overnight in the nearby Wigwam Motel.

As far as the caves that I've been to, it is one of my least favorite. Its a huge cave system but it doesn't have the amazing displays of stalactites and stalagmites that say a Carlsbad Caverns has.
Does have a neat historical tie to the Confederacy, in that is where the Confederates mined their salt peter for making gun powder.
