I have Kodi on my computer, but can't convince the wife to go w/o dvr functionality. Have you found an add/on that works with a guide to stream live content? I tried a few, but all didn't work very well. Although, I may have Kodi set up wrong. It keeps telling me there are connection to the database issues.

No, there is no cord-cutting solution for wives who can't let go of the DVR/Channel Surfing format and/or need to watch one or more trashy reality TV shows live. If there were a solution, I wouldn't be paying $100/mo for Uverse.

What does she record? Just about every tv show is available on demand from Kodi repositories such as Genesis. Best thing for a newbie is to install TVMC. It is Kodi with Genesis, Phoenix and a few other popular repositories pre-installed. Then get Sportsdevil and watch about any televised sport in the world. The Snooker world championships are coming on in a hour.
