Here's the thing. Since Fox didn't release the trailer in HD, we have to go by what we see. The Joker was widely criticized based on the photos we saw. All the sudden we see the trailer and it fits and looks great. I understand that a photo doesn't always justify a final product, but we have to base our thoughts on what we've seen so far. If Fox would just release a trailer so we can see the character in action, if it merits it, I'll change my tone. Until then, I have to go by what I see, and it's bad. If a director has to defend the look by saying "wait for the final product", even he is admitting it doesn't look great as it stands.

Own the shite and release a trailer.

They can't release a trailer because the SFX is not in for them to release a trailer yet. It's not a matter of owning it or not it's a matter of actually being able to release a finished product.
