This is how coaches and front office people would talk about expectations. "Competitive 2nd round exit" would never be discussed in an NBA setting

You listen to Kerr on Lowe's podcast, and even he acknowledged that he never considered a championship in training camp. Goal was just to get better every day.

I understand it is more fun to argue on a message board, rank teams, etc. but the true answer to this question - the one the team is setting internally for itself - involves improvement day to day over artificial benchmarks.
