New Orleans police were notified of the incident shortly after 12:30 p.m. Monday near Canal Street and North Claiborne Avenue. While few details were available, sources said two people have been shot in the area. Canal Street was closed as police investigated the shooting. More information is expected Monday afternoon. Anyone with information in the case is asked to call Crimestoppers at 504-822-1111.
