I'm talking full time. Not just a trip. Seeing all kinds of jobs in my field with much better pay but I'm not sure I could leave all I have behind. Maybe just for a while to stash some money?
Experiences?

sounds like it would suck, regardless of pay

I went to Denmark, didn't particularly like it but that may have been the job, only stayed about 9 months.
If you go to Scandinavia make sure to catch the Summer.

Finally got the surgery and you want to go to Thailand and join the TG workers there?
Good luck, I guess.

Taught English in France. Loved it. Best year of my life. Take advantage of free time and travel.

If you count military I've worked for at least a year each in South Korea, Kuwait, Iraq, and Germany.

Worked in China for two years. I enjoyed it, but it got old after a while.

Going on 23 years teaching English in Japan (original plan was for 2 or 3).

I've done it in the military. I'd rather do it as a civilian. If you're single and have no kids you should definitely do it for the money and the experience IMO.

You'll learn more about life and yourself in one year living abroad than you have in your life so far. Personal growth happens when you leave your comfort zone. Go for it while you're young, single and few things holding you back here.

Did a few months in Geneva. Fantastic city and had a blast, but ungodly expensive. Wasn't sustainable. There's a huge anglophile expat community so it wasn't really much different culturally.

Spent a few months in Abu Dhabi. Wouldn't want to live there.

Worked in Saudi for a couple of years before ,during and after the Gulf War (First one)
Had alot of good times. Hung out with a bunch of different nationalities there.Being an old Southern Boy I wondered whether or not I'd fit in enough but it was a true adventure, to say the least.
Of course doing a hitch with Uncle Sam around the globe helped to broaden my horizons as well.
If your under 30 and single you owe it to yourself to give it a try, depending on where you are planning to go. I don't know if I would do the Saudi thing these days. Would take some serious $$ to make me consider it.

Been teaching in Korea for 3 years. It's been great and fruatrating at times. I'm ready to go to the states for a bit but I suspect I won't stay long.
If you don feel strongly about leavin it all behind then it's probably not the life for you.

If I could do things over I'd do that in a heartbeat. Wish I could now.

in my experience, when you find a job that pays well, there is a damn good reason why it pays well...may not be apparent at first, but there is always a reason...
