Four weeks is good all the way around.
If they can't get back to you in that period of time, you don't want them building your house.
Unless you are building some very custom home any builder worth his credentials should have no problem with that timeline and an owner should see that as a reasonable amount of time as well.

Thanks for the advice. It seems to be a common thing with most all builders here. Business is booming I guess.
